In 1976, I was in a car accident in Irving, Texas that left me a C5-C6-C7 incomplete quadriplegic. The doctors at Parkland Hospital in Dallas told me I would never be able to sit up in a chair because of blood circulation issues. They sent me to Houston where I did my rehabilitation at TIRR. In less than 3 days they had me sitting up and rolling myself to therapy. Though I only started out going about 2 inches at a time it was enough to convince me that the doctors did not understand determination.

Since those days long ago, I have become a fully functional quad that has a wonderful wife, son and daughter-in-law and the apple of my eye little Hannah, my granddaughter Jay, my grandson. I drive a truck which hauls my boat; and I go deer and hog hunting with a compound bow and/or rifle along with Dove hunting with a 12 gauge shotgun. I work 5 days a week as a Technology Director for a private school and I guess I could go on for quite sometime but I won’t. I just want you to know that with blessings from God, determination, and hard work you CAN overcome the odds.
